Everson and Nooksack are located near the Canadian border in western Whatcom County, 18 miles northeast of the city of Bellingham. State Route 544 traverses through town from the southwest to the northeast, providing one route from Bellingham to the international border crossing in Sumas, 8 miles to the northeast. State Route 9 and the Burlington Northern Railroad tracks touch the east city limits, heading north to Sumas. Mt. Baker is just 45 minutes east, with excellent hiking, downhill and cross country skiing. Birch Bay is located 30 minutes to the west. Family camping, sailing and clam digging are just a few of the activities this area has to offer.
