Nooksack-Everson Chamber of Commerce February 28th, 2006 Meeting Minutes 12:00 Lunch prepared by Kelly Isfeld The Meeting was called to order by President Trevor Carslay. There were 23 members and guests present. The minutes of the January 2006 meeting were read and approved. Under old business we discussed the progression of the committees to organize the Auction/Dinner/Dance to be held April 29th. There will be another committee meeting for this on March 17th, 2006 at Little Caesers Pizza in Everson at 12 noon. We still need volunteers for committees so please, anyone interested in helping should attend this meeting. Also under old business Jennifer Lautenbach gave an update on the organization of the Summer Festival. There was a meeting for the committees for this event at her home in February. There will be another meeting scheduled for March 22, 2006 at Mastersblend at 12;00 noon. All interested in helping out with events and organization of the Summer Festival should attend. Under new business, Becky Johns spoke on the history and the upcoming events scheduled for the 100 year anniversary of the Glen Echo community established in 1906. She also spoke on the future plans that the community has for the area. There were many information sheets and pamphlets passed to the chamber members throughout the speech. Cheryl Brown spoke on a fund raising dinner organized for her business "A Watered Garden". It will be held in the commons area at Nooksack Valley High School. The cost will be $25 dollars per person and they have many guest speakers and events scheduled throughout the evening. She also has pamphlets and information for persons interested. Diana Quinn reported for the mayor reports that the bids are in for the trail in Everson and they are planning to get started on this soon. A member of the chamber reported that the flag pole areas in Everson have been fixed and cleaned out . There will be a sign up sheet for people interested in volunteering to put the flags out on holidays at out March meeting. Steve Jones won the free lunch and motioned to discuss the need to talk about the free lunch drawing, why we started it and why we continue it at our March meeting. The meeting was adjourned. Our next meeting will be held at the Everson Senior Center on March 21, 2006 at noon. It was really nice to see some new faces at the February meeting. All are welcome to attend.
