Everson-Nooksack Chamber of Commerce June 27, 2006 Meeting Minutes The June 27th, 2006 Everson-Nooksack Chamber of Commerce meeting was called to order by Past President Jennifer Lautenbach. There were 17 members present for lunch prepared by Kelly Isfeld. The minutes of the May 25th 2006 meeting were approved. Treasurer Tina Labree gave the Treasurers report: $6,107.00 Checking $103,00 Savings $2574.00 Money Market Jennifer Lautenbach announced that there will be a Festival Commitee meeting at Mastersblend in Everson on Wednesday June 28, 2006. She also announced that the Festival T-Shirts are now on sale at the banks in Everson and also at Valley Drug in Everson. The winners of the picture contest for the T-shirts and the posters were: Fiona Chapman from Nooksack Elementary Alliah Eng from Everson Elementary New this year on the Festival roster is an Everson Idol contest and a 3 on 3 Basketball Touney. They should be alot of fun. Craig Mayberry volunteered to judge the pie baking contest. Steve Jones announced plans for the Social to be held on the Thursday evening of the Festival at the Bank of the Pacific. Catering will be done by the Hilltop Cafe and Samson Estates will be there with wine tasting available. Everyone is invited to attend. Admission is 25 dollars per person. Kelly Isfeld announced that the Petting Zoo is planned and will be at the Festival this year. Proceeds of donations will go to a Horse Ranch on the May Road off of the Halverstick Road in Sumas who help underprivilaged children. Mary Compton said that Marva Powell was wondering when the rest of the flags and banners will be up in Everson. Ruth Hadeen announced that there will be alot of sales going on at Watkins and anyone interested in taking advantage of them should contact her in the near future. Craig Mayberry spoke on issues he is involved with. He is running for Representative in the future election. Jennifer Lautenbach announced that President Trevor Carslay and Vice-President Trish from Red Apple in Everson have resigned their positions effective immediately. Both those positions are available to anyone interested. At our next meeting on July 25, 2006, we will be discussing our situation of needing officers for our Chamber. We will be discussing also our plans for our meeting dates and times. Also on the agenda will be the Christmas Festival and plans for that. The meeting was adjourned. |
