Meeting Mminutes
Lunch prepared by Kelly Isfeld
The September 26, 2006 Everson Nooksack Chamber of Commerce lunch meeting was called to order by past President Jennifer Lautenbach.
Treasurer Tina LaBree read the treasurers report.
The minutes of the July meeting were approved as written.
There were 13 members and guests present for this meeting.
Under both old and new business we discussed the importance of continuing on with our lunch meetings. We mailed almost 100 letters last month to business owners and past and future members inviting them to this meeting, stressing the importance of this meeting to discuss our future as a group. It was not very successful seeings that there were only 13 members attending this meeting. We discussed changing the times of the meetings to either morning or night time meetings, and having chamber members going out and directly speaking to business owners and workers and finding out their views on the meetings and how important involvement in the chamber is. Diana Quinn volunteered herself and Mary Compton to go out and speak to the businesses before the next meeting. Our next meeting will be held on October 24th at noon at the Everson Senior Center. Jeff Bergman brought up looking into and telling the owners of the businesses the benefits involved with being a chamber member.
We also discussed the upcoming Christmas Festival. This will be held on the first weekend in December. Kelly Isfeld and Kami Smith will co-chair this event. They are planning on having a meeting with interested people to help plan the events for the Christmas Festival before our next lunch meeting and report what they have planned for activities for it.
We had guests come from the Washington State Small Business Development Center at Western Washington State College and speak on some meetings that they have planned for the near future.
There were no mayor or school reports at this meeting.
The meeting was adjourned.
