General member meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the month in January, March, May, July, September, and November. The Board meets on the Friday before to set the agenda for Tuesday.   • Everson Library - Your Tech Learning:  Facing a technology challenge? We offer friendly one-on-one, half-hour computer tutoring on your choice of device. Let us help you learn new computer skills through our public computers, or bring your tablet, laptop, or smart phone. All ages and abilities are welcome. Weekly on Wednesdays.   • Everson Library - The Fight Against Human Trafficking:  When she learned about the horrors of human trafficking after retiring from Nooksack Valley High School in 2007, Sue Ann Heutink became a modern day abolitionist. Sue Ann will share current information about trafficking in the U.S. and around the world. Learn about the fight against trafficking in Whatcom and Skagit counties, and how busy people with busy lives can help. Saturday, January 20, 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM.   • Everson Library - Everson Stories & Play:  For ages 3-5, 60 minutes. Begins with a Preschool Storytime, followed by open early learning play with a variety of activities and materials.   • Everson Library - Ukulele for Everyone:  Strumming and singing with the ukulele has become an international phenomenon! Each month there is a demo, beginning lessons, and a song circle of the "happy instrument." Singers and other instruments welcome as well. Ukuleles will be available for use courtesy of the Bellingham Ukulele Group. For all ages. Meets the fourth Wednesday of every month. Wednesday, January 24, 4:15 PM to 5:00 PM.   • Everson Library - Everson LEGO Robotics Club:  Have you heard about LEGO MINDSTORMS®? Wish you could build a robot? Want to do some programming? If you said yes to any of those questions, the LEGO Robotics Club may be for you! Create a team and schedule time in the library to do challenges.   • Everson Library -Songs of Protest & Social Justice with Jimmy Brite:  Join local musician Jimmy Brite for a spirited performance in conjunction with this year’s Whatcom READS. Listen and sing songs of protest, social justice, and inspiration. Jimmy Brite is the happiest when he is entertaining an audience with his guitar, either as a solo artist or with a group. He has played for events, weddings, and festivals all over Whatcom County. Jimmy has been performing and writing music for over 30 years and has no plans to retire!   • Everson Library -All Levels Chess Club:  Beginners welcome! This friendly mix of adults, teens, and kids enjoy getting together for fun chess activities and games. Players are paired for games. More skilled players are handicapped for further challenge, and beginners are given assistance. Meets monthly on the second Wednesday, February 14, 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM.
