Chamber Meetings


General member meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the month in January, March, May, July, September, and November. The Board meets on the Friday before to set the agenda for Tuesday.   • Everson Library - NVHC Display Cabinet: Native American Artifacts:  Arrow heads collected along the Columbia River before dams raised the water level to its current state, baskets from other sources, and more.   • Everson Library - Your Tech Learning:  Looking for a computer class? Staff member Cynthia Rogers offers friendly one-on-one, half-hour computer tutoring on your choice of device. Learn new computer skills using our public computers, or bring your tablet, smart phone, or laptop. Encouragement and advice for our increasingly digital world. All ages welcome.   • Everson Library - Everson Stories & Play:  For ages 3-5, Stories & Play begins with a Preschool Storytime, followed by open early learning play with a variety of activities and materials.   • Everson Library - Ukulele for Everyone:  Strumming and singing with the ukulele has become an international phenomenon! For this monthly event, ukuleles will be available for use courtesy of the Bellingham Ukulele Group. Join Cynthia Rogers for a demo, beginning lessons, and a song circle of the "happy instrument."   • Everson Library - Sierra Leone Peace Corps Revisited:  In conjunction with Whatcom READS!, Paul Goff shares his own fascinating caregiving experiences doctoring in Sierra Leone in the early 70’s. In addition to providing care in his Freetown office, he traveled around the country providing immunizations and disease prevention strategies to volunteers. He got to know the local doctors and a spectrum of tropical illnesses in this country racked by poverty, malnutrition, and corruption.  Saturday, February 25, 3 PM to 4:30 PM.  Everson Library, 104 Kirsch Drive, (360) 966-5100.

 

  • Everson Library - Teens Make Monday Matter: Book Talk:  Join us the fourth Monday of every month as we chat about books. Bring the current book you are reading and share with us what you liked or what you didn’t like. Leave with ideas for your next great read and make your Monday matter!
